Renate Boutique

PROJECT

I was responsible for all of Renate’s digital and print graphics for the store. I designed and released 1 email newsletter each week, posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, managed the online store, designed flyers, invites, gift cards, and event marketing. Social media marketing consisted of store updates, competitions, funny quotes, user generated content, photos with customers, new products, and encouraged email sign up.

RESULTS

Featured in The Times Top 50 Boutiques in Britain.
Multiple product features in Cardiff Life magazine.
Connected with personal shoppers – one of our shirts was worn by Sue Perkins.
Numerous articles online by local bloggers.
‘Highly commended retailer of the year’ by the Regional Awards.
Tripled Facebook followers after running a competition.

STRATEGY

Renate was competing in Cardiff against retail giants like Topshop so to make us stand out, I implemented a strategy that would differentiate Renate by adding a personal touch. The tone of voice was informal, witty, friendly, humanistic. For graphic design aesthetics, I took influence from the Scandinavian clothing designs Renate stocked and created minimal designs.
